Why a YouTube Channel
I finally decided to start a YouTube channel; it was a choice I made after giving the matter a lot of thought and realizing it would require a significant commitment of my time. But I’m here to share a small portion of my love for nature and photography with you.
I did it primarily for two reasons. The first is my lifelong love of nature, and the feelings it gives me every time I visit a forest, a park, or simply gaze at the beauty of a sunset. The second reason is that it is impossible to overestimate the importance of having as many channels as possible to make yourself known and sell your work nowadays.
In my opinion, using social media is now required if you want to stay competitive in the field of photography.
What is the channel about
As you can see from the video I linked above, the channel will primarily focus on images and sounds of nature, to share an absolute truth with you: the sounds emitted by natural environments, such as the gurgling of a stream or the wind in the trees, can eliminate stress, free the mind from negative thoughts, and relax.
Gear and Equipment
After 4 years of using a Canon 5D Mark IV, I decided to switch to mirrorless and treated myself to a Canon R5. I still haven’t had the opportunity to get RF lenses because they are prohibitively expensive, and I already have an excellent Tamron kit and Venus Laowa with focal lengths ranging from 17mm to 840. In terms of lenses, I’m satisfied because I also have three macro lenses and a doubler.
It may appear ludicrous, but I frequently use the Tamron 150-600 G2 and the Laowa 90mm Macro to record the channel’s videos; I had assumed that more ordinary lenses were used; nonetheless, for certain images, it is extremely intriguing to interesting to crush the planes and isolate for example a detail of a tree in the wind or a rock in a stream for example.
Projects and ideas for the channel
For the time being, I’ve generally posted recordings of areas near where I live, but the goal is to collect sounds and environments from a variety of natural and landscape areas, primarily in Italy.
I’ve also included a video featuring a normal day in a Thailand village during the monsoon season. Unfortunately, I don’t have enough material to submit additional videos right now, but I aim to explore new locations every weekend and schedule more videos for March.
I recently purchased a dedicated microphone, a Tascam X8, which I want to put to use on rainy days! It fascinates me to hear the rain hitting on the windows because it gives me the feeling of tranquillity and peace that you get when you stay at home in the warmth and it’s really bad weather outside but you’re still in your wonderful warm and inviting home? Yea, that one!
So that’s all for now and I hope you visit my new channel, relax with one of my videos and follow me in this new adventure made of sounds, nature and hot tea..
I ask you if you can help me grow the channel and this blog, to allow me to continue writing here and to create new content dedicated entirely to photography, travel and the search for simplicity in the little things of all days.
See you next time and enjoy your relaxation!
